This delicate sculpture is one of Larimore’s ceremonial objects that embraces the ritual tasks of everyday life. Its receptacle—which represents the axis mundi (meaning the center of the world)—is meant to hold the odds and ends found on our daily adventures out in the world.
To quote Larimore, “Where do we put the primordial ooze that we find interesting but has no real storage place?” In this vessel random pieces of debris transform into treasured mementos from our journey through life.
