Visored Sallet

Artist/maker unknown, German or Italian
This remarkably heavy sallet was probably captured in combat, as in the early twentieth century it was in the arsenal of the Ottoman sultans in the former church of Saint Irene in Constantinople (now Istanbul), Turkey.
