McNeil, Jr., Senior Curator of American Art, for a panel discussion about WHYY’s acclaimed podcast, The Statue, and its influence on our city and the role of public art today. This six-episode podcast dives deep into the story of Rocky Balboa and the influence of the fictional boxer on millions of people from around the world. The guest panelists will discuss the stories behind the statue and the impact of public sculpture in the city of Philadelphia.
