Hine Taizan (Japanese, 1814–1869)

Hine Taizan was active in Kyoto, Japan, and studied calligraphy with Nukina Kaioku (1778-1863). Taizan's calligraphic training can be seen in the brushwork of these twelve landscapes, which show the seasonal changes throughout one year.
