Chest-on-Chest (Pair of Drawers or Double Chest)

This chest-on-chest originally belonged to Abel and Rebecca Chalkley James of Philadelphia and was part of the furnishings of Chalkley Hall, the James's country estate north of the city. The chest later descended, through marriage, to the Lewis family.
