Teabowl

20th century
Artist/maker unknown, Japanese
The playful shape and decoration of this teabowl are typical of the artful forms and boldly patterned glazes favored by the tea master Furuta Oribe (1544-1615), whose taste continued to influence the aesthetics of Oribe wares through the twentieth century.
