Pattipan

1774-1780
Made by the Loosdrecht porcelain factory, Loosdrecht, Netherlands (1774–1784) Factory owned by Joannes de Mol (Dutch, 1726–1782)
A pattipan is a tray used to catch drips from the spouts of teapots, coffeepots, or milk pitchers. It derives its name from two Chinese words: “di” (or “ti”), which means water drops, and “pán” (or “bán”), which means tray.
