Tankard with Christian Scenes and Allegories

Solid slabs of clay were joined together to form the relief panels on this nineteenth-century vessel—that is, the ornament was not applied to a wheel-thrown form, as was typical in the sixteenth century—demonstrating that this is a reproduction, likely intended to deceive.
