Bellona

c. 1555-1567
Angelo Falconetto (Italian, 1504–1567) After Girolamo Francesco Maria Mazzola, known as Parmigianino (Italian, 1503–1540)
Although not well known today, Falconetto was an interesting and innovative printmaker who was inspired by Parmigianino. Here, the soft, granular appearance of the etched lines is apparently the result of an experiment with an uncommon type of ink.
