Teapot, Model 849B

1939
Designed by Sigvard Bernadotte (Swedish, 1907–2002) Made by Georg Jensen Sølvsmedie A/S, Copenhagen, Denmark (1904–present)
Sigvard Bernadotte often incorporated vertical grooves into his work for the Jensen smithy. Unlike other functionalist designers, Bernadotte believed decorative elements in his work were acceptable, so long as they were consistent with the overall linear form.
