Workshop of Pierre Platel (English (active London), c. 1664–1719)
This caster, engraved with the badge of George II of Great Britain when he was the prince of Wales (from 1714 to when he became king in 1727), may be part of a service made by Pierre Platel for the prince in 1717-18. The service included additional casters along with salvers, sauceboats, saltcellars, and candlesticks.
