Inkstone in the Form of a Chinese Zither (Qin)

The qin is a Chinese-style zither, which was considered the favorite musical instrument of the literati, who would often bring one along to poetic gatherings. By fashioning this inkstone, used for writing calligraphy, in this particular shape the artist emphasized the sophistication of the future owner.
