Wall Light (from a set)

1784
Pierre-François Feuchère (French, 1737–1823)
This wall light, from a set of four, was supplied to Sophie, Adélaïde, and Victoire, the daughters of Louis XV, by the Parisian firm of Darnault, Frères, which specialized in lights, furniture, and other decorative objects. In August 1784 the lights were delivered to the château at Bellevue (near Paris) for installation in the grand salon.
