The Grain Harvest (An Allegory of Autumn?)

c. 1680
Ciro Ferri (Italian, c. 1634–1689)
Ferri's successful career as a painter, sculptor, and architect was divided between Florence and Rome. He held the prestigious position of director of the Roman artists' academy, the Accademia di San Luca, from 1681 to 1687. This lunette-shaped drawing may have been preparatory for a decorative cycle of allegories of the seasons.
