Johann Wilhelm Schirmer (German, 1807–1863) , in reverse after a painting of Johann Wilhelm Schirmer (German, 1807–1863) Published by the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westphalen zu Düsseldorf (founded 1829)

Schirmer based this etching on sketches made for a painting he completed at the same time as the etching. The title The Large German Landscape is used to distinguish it from a companion print of the same date called The Large Italian Landscape.
