"Mira Columba" Textile

1983
Designed by Verner Panton (Danish, 1926–1998) Made by Mira-X Stoffe AG, Bühler, Switzerland
The promotional materials for Verner Panton's "Mira Columba" described the textile as "exotic as a Persian design, abstract as a modern stained glass window." The complex color combinations of this grid-like, double square design can be read as large horizontal, vertical or diagonal patterns, and are enlivened and given a glossy effect by the addition of gold and silver.
