Sforza di Marcantonio (Italian (active Pesaro), active beginning in c. 1540, died c. 1581)

In a period in which much of the painting of narratives on Italian maiolica became bland and anonymous, Sforza di Marcantonio developed a distinctive, vigorous style formed from the careful study of the works of Xanto and Francesco Durantino.
