Constantine Tapestries

Tapestry showing Constantine's Triumphal Entry into Rome, 1623–25, designed by Peter Paul Rubens

The Constantine tapestries represent thirteen iconic scenes from the life of the Roman Emperor Constantine (around 270–337 CE). Peter Paul Rubens designed seven of the tapestries and presented them to Cardinal Francesco Barberini, who ordered six more from his own factory, which were designed by Pietro da Cortona.
