Highlights of the Alfred Stieglitz Center Collection of Photographs

Highlights of the Alfred Stieglitz Center Collection of Photographs displays fifty of the most important photographs from the Museum's Alfred Stieglitz Center. This selection of early photographs surveys the depth and breadth of the center's collection from early works by pioneers in photography such as William Henry Fox Talbot, David Octavius Hill, and Robert Adamson, to contemporary works by Ray K. Metzker, Emmet Gowin, Linda Connor, and Nicholas Nixon. The exhibition features major works by nineteenth-century photographers Julia Margaret Cameron, Thomas Eakins, and Francis Frith and twentieth century photographers Diane Arbus, Eugene Atget, Man Ray, Alfred Stieglitz, Paul Strand, and Edward Weston. Two recently acquired vintage prints by Harry Callahan and Albert Renger-Patszch will also be on view.
