One of the preeminent features of contemporary Japanese design has been the excellence of its ceramic artists. The diversity of styles, forms and decorations reflect both Japan’s own venerable pottery tradition, as well as the international influences of the twentieth century. This installation includes a focused selection of contemporary ceramics from the museum’s Japanese collections.
