Woven Textile: 'Feather Flurries'

1993
Designed by Reiko Sudo (Japanese, born 1953) Manufactured by Nuno Corporation, Tokyo (founded 1984)
Reiko Sudo achieved the delicate layering of peacock, goose, and guinea hen feathers by inserting them into pockets on the iridescent, patterned silk. The individually captured feathers lend an air of surprise to the double layer of lustrous silk beneath.
