KFS (Knife, Fork, Spoon) II

c. 1982
William D. Parry (American, 1918–2004)
A ceramicist and teacher for over forty years, William Parry was an artist who refused to be led by contemporary trends. Ever experimental, Parry focused on exploring new methods and ideas, not on expanding and exploiting a mastered skill. KFS is part of a series of representations of knives, forks, and spoons; monumentalizing small, personal objects such as these, Parry altered their otherwise common appearance and imbued them with a sense of wonder.
