This wallpaper design is an adaptation of Robert Indiana's <>i>LOVE icon. It was created in 1991 as part of a multiple-panel installation in the exhibition All for Love at the Temple Gallery (Tyler School of Art) in Philadelphia.

General Idea is the collaborative identity of three artists who lived and worked together for twenty-five years, until two of its members died of AIDS-related causes in 1994. Well known for their use of mass media formats (television, billboards, magazines), General Idea's work pointedly explores shifting roles and perceptions of image and object-from work of art to consumer product to social commentary. AIDS became the primary focus of the group's projects beginning in 1987, and A. A. Bronson, the surviving member, continues to promote AIDS awareness.
