Stanley Lechtzin arrived in Philadelphia to begin his teaching career at Tyler School of Art in 1962. Five years later he established a graduate program in metals there, through which many important metalsmiths have passed: Eleanor Moty, Albert Paley, Bruce Metcalf, and Vickie Sedman, among others. Lechtzin has made innovation and education the keystones of his artistic career.
