Indra Worships the Embryo of Mahavira

Indra, king of the gods, discovers the embryo of a future jina-Mahavira-while on tour of Jambudvipa, the continent inhabited by men. Mahavira is in the womb of Devananda, a woman of the Brahman (priestly) caste. Overwhelmed with joy, Indra leaves his throne, kneels, folds his hands, and recites a prayer to the various types of pure beings.
