This lithograph was designed as the wraparound cover for a new collector's album of limited-edition prints by Lautrec and other young artists, such as Pierre Bonnard and Édouard Vuillard. Here the entertainer Jane Avril is depicted in a lithographic work shop, examining a print fresh off the handpress.
