Soldier Reading

The characteristic blurred, velvety lines of drypoint burr are visible in the rich shadows at the bottom of the soldier's coat. Dragging the sharp drypoint needle across the bare surface of the copper requires great control, with the result that lines are generally straight or only slightly curved.
