Tundra

1950
Sylvia Wald (American, 1914–2011)
Sylvia Wald began making screenprints in a realistic mode in the early 1940s. By the 1950s, her work had become abstract and she was one of the most experimental artists working in the medium. Her abstractions incorporate organic forms and weblike textures that exploit the tactile qualities of the viscous screenprint ink.
