Prayer Wheel (Mani-Lag-Khor)

Artist/maker unknown

In addition to the prayers embossed on the surface of the wheel, immense numbers of prayers are written or printed on paper that is rolled around the wheel's shaft. Tibetan-Buddhist devotees spin the prayer wheel to multiply the prayers included on the wheel-thus activating thousands of prayers for each rotation.
