Vase (Green-and-Blue-Speckled Glaze)

Late 1700s to early 1800s
Ge Mingxiang (Chinese, active late 18th–early 19th century)
The form and decoration of this vase attempt to imitate the heavily potted shapes and brilliant splashed glaze colors of earlier Song and Yüan dynasty "Chün" wares. The name of Ko Ming-hsiang, a renowned eighteenth-century potter from the city of I-hsing, appears on the base.
