Overdone Jacket

Mario Rivoli (American, 1943–2021)
Mario Rivoli’s works are assemblages of found objects that he sees as a means of erasing the boundaries between art and life. During his world travels, he would fill his pockets with candy wrappers, metal bottle caps, and other throwaways. Some ended up on the Bicentennial Bag also shown in the exhibition, while others were used on this Levi’s denim jacket that he described as shining "like a little faceted jewel."
