Woman's Ensemble: Jacket, Top, Trousers and Brooch

Fall/Winter 2004-2005
Emanuel Ungaro, Paris (1965–present) Designed by Giambattista Valli (Italian, born 1966) Worn by Mrs. Martin Field (American, 1941–2013)
For a modern look inspired by the relaxed and fanciful old-world elegance of Marie Antoinette, Giambattista Valli, designer of ready-to-wear fashion for Ungaro, updated the house’s hallmark mix of tailoring and embellishment. This pantsuit plays with shades of red and pink and graceful, luxurious flourishes. The tweed features woven-in sequins and self-fringe while butterfly-printed chiffon forms lavish ruffles and an unfurling lace-edged flower pin.
