Sauceboat (one of a pair)

1743-1744
Possibly Workshop of Frederick Kandler (German (active England), active c. 1720–c. 1770)
This magnificent sauceboat, one of a pair, bears the coat of arms of Middleton impaling Wilkinson. These arms were added at least three years after the date of manufacture, when William Middleton (1710-1785), member of a prominent South Carolina family, married his third wife, Sarah Wilkinson, in 1747.
