The Czech Auxiliary Regional Association in the former kingdom of Bohemia issued this poster to provide information on tuberculosis:
1. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease and can appear in any organ of the human body.
2. The cause of tuberculosis is a special stamen, bacillus.
3. The infection is spread mostly through sputum of the sick.
4. The sputum of a tubercular person contains the most bacilli. The lungs are the most frequent pathway of infection.
5. It is possible to protect oneself against tuberculosis.
6. Do not spit on the ground. When coughing or sneezing hold a scarf in front of your mouth. Do not raise dust. Do not linger in dust.
7. Live in temperance. Do not drink alcohol. Air apartments. Do not live in dark, damp apartments.
8. Harden yourselves. Wash in cold water and maintain cleanliness.
9. Tuberculosis is curable. The sooner it is treated the more likely it will be cured.
10. Treat yourself to a strong and good diet. Move around often in open healthy air!
