La Pertuisine

c. 1900
Artist/maker unknown, French Published by Affiches Artistiques H. Bouquet, 2, rue de Rocroy, Paris
Baldness cures have been plentiful for hundreds of years but until the late 1980s, none proved to be effective. This did not stop the marketing of salves, vitamins, massage, rancid fat, urine, standing on the head, and just about every possible agent to cure a genetically based problem. The poster contrasts one man in the theater audience, who has used Pertuisine, with all the others born to suffer forever.
