Caster

1705-1706
Workshop of Christopher Canner I (English (active London), active from 1687, died 1708)
The coat of arms on this caster (containers with pierced covers that hold seasonings like sugar, pepper and dry mustard) is that of Charles Thomas Brisbane. Because Brisbane's arms were not listed until 1881, we know that the arms were added to this piece almost two centuries after its manufacture.
