Vase

c. 1827
Made by Tucker Factory, Philadelphia (1826–1838)
This vase depicts the estate Woodlands, which is taken from Thomas Birch's 1808 pictorial record of rural buildings The Country Seats of the United States. . . The decorator took some license in adapting Birch's two-dimensional scene to the round shape of the vase, enriching the foreground.
