The Virgin and Child Appearing to Saints Michael and Francis

Attributed to Orazio Samacchini (Italian, 1532–1577)

Primarily active in Rome and in various cities of northern Italy, such as Bologna, Parma, and Cremona, Samacchini may have executed this drawing in preparation for an unidentified painting around the late 1550s or early 1560s, when he was working on decorations for the cathedral of Parma.
