Ludwig Emil Grimm (German, 1790–1863) After a watercolor of 1818 by Ludwig Emil Grimm (German, 1790–1863)
This etching is an illustration of the fairy tale Brüderchen und Schwesterchen (Little Brother and Little Sister), in which a sister protects her brother from hunters after he foolishly drinks from a magic stream and is turned into a young deer.
