Designed 1982
Designed by Nathalie du Pasquier (French (active Italy), born 1957) Made for Memphis, Milan, Italy (1980–present) Made by Rainbow, Italy
The first textile designer to be associated with the Italian design collective Memphis, Nathalie du Pasquier designed fabrics with dense, angular, frenetic, colorful, and often discordant patterns. "Gabon" derives its name from the African country where du Pasquier travelled after leaving school, and combines the inspiration of African textiles, with the more Western influences of comic book graphics and rock music.
