Woman's Shoes

1790s
Bruckner, Shoe Maker, London
These fringed silk shoes have low curved heels and long pointed toes, both typical of feminine footwear of the very late eighteenth century. The paper label - a recent innovation by shoemakers - boasts of the shoemaker's royal warrant to the daughter of George III.
