QUERVELLE’S / CABINET AND SOFA MANUFACTORY, / 126 / SOUTH SECOND STREET A FEW DOORS BELOW DOCK, / PHILADELPHIA.; [in ink on paper label] This Secretary & Book Case was Exhibited / by Anthony G. Quervelle / at the Franklin Institute in 1827 / and Obtained the Silver Medal / from Competent judges / of the Same.

The Franklin Institute’s report on the 1827 exhibition stated that this work was considered “the best piece of furniture” of its kind and that the “parlour secretary and ladie’s dressing table by the same are fair specimens of the present style of work.”
