Identified as Colonel Cambell of the Royal Americans

1798-1803
Attributed to Robert Field (American (born England), 1769–1819)
The different colored locks of hair in the back of this miniature may be those of Colonel Cambell and a beloved family member. The wheat sheaf was a popular design for hairwork in the late eighteenth century because it signified constancy and devotion.
