Lodovico Mazzolino (Italian (active Ferrara), first documented 1504, died 1528/30)

This picture was painted for the duke of Ferrara and was later installed in the private chapel of his wife. The payment document specifically mentions that it showed small figures. Small-scale pictures containing many figures were Mazzolino's specialty.
