Museum of Black Joy, in collaboration with Drexel Writers Room and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, presents a series of interactive workshops for all ages. Workshops will reflect a multimedia approach to engaging both the permanent collection and the upcoming exhibition: The Time is Always Now, Artists Reframe the Black Figure . Using collage, genre-expansive writing, visual poetry, creative journaling, and zine-making, participants will respond to prompts and activities that consider culturally specific themes of beauty, representation, self-expression, and mindfulness.

Colored People & Time: Join us for an interactive and reflective poetry workshop that combines writing and visual art. We will be thinking about the Black figure throughout time. This workshop is in tandem with a tour of The Time is Always Now, please arrive promptly. All are welcome and the workshop is appropriate for all ages.
