About the Artist
offering rain (born Melika Davé, 1996) is a multi-talented artist and DJ of Gujarati and Ecuadorian descent, born and based in New York City. Their DJ practice is an ode to the remix, to fusion, and to the polycultural essence, often featuring global disco and dance music. They have collaborated with HBO Max, Instagram, NTS Radio, South Asian Youth Action, and Lincoln Center.
Melika is also the co-founder of Disco Auntie, a DJ collective that platforms sounds of the South Asian diaspora and creates sober-friendly, intergenerational dance space for QTBIPOC+ communities and their allies. Their DJ sets blend soulful beats with influences from India, Ecuador, and beyond, taking listeners on a joyful, connective journey through genres like disco, filmi music, funk, and house.
