Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration

AAPI Heritage Month is coming alive with a night of activities and events the whole family can enjoy. We’re giving away limited-edition pencil cases designed by AAPI Month artist collaborator Peri Law to the first 500 visitors. Arrive early so you don't miss a minute of the Celebration.

5:00 – 8:00 p.m. | Pop–Up Studio | Great Stair Hall Balcony, third floor
Artist Peri Law leads this drawing and stenciling workshop. Materials provided. No experience necessary, all ages welcome. Free after PWYW admission.


5:00–8:00 p.m. | Rice & Sambal | Great Stair Hall & Stir, first floor
Chef Diana Widjojo brings her pop-up Indonesian supper club, Rice & Sambal, to the museum.


5:00–8:30 p.m. | Friday Night Lounge: TITO_VIDA | Great Stair Hall, second floor
DJ TITO_VIDA (@tito_vida) of New York-based collective BUBBLE_T (@bubble____t) provides a backdrop of Cantopop, Bay Area R&B, and dance pop to celebrate Asian visibility, diversity, inclusivity, and love.

6:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.| Guided Tour: Asian Art | Great Stair Hall, second floor
Visit rare architectural settings within the museum and discover intriguing works of art from across Asia, including some of the oldest objects in our collection.
