Collab is a collaboration of design professionals and enthusiasts supporting the modern and contemporary design collections at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. A volunteer committee founded in 1970, Collab is dedicated to enriching the Museum’s collections with outstanding examples of mass-produced and unique designs, and to making the collections accessible to the general public, students, and the design community. Now among the most important in the country, the design collections of more than 2,000 objects range from appliances and furniture to ceramics, glass, posters, wallpapers, and lighting.

Members of Collab receive special access to a variety of design related programs at the Museum, including private curator led tours, free admission to Collab’s annual Spring Lecture, discounted tickets to Collab’s signature program, the Design Excellence Award, and other member benefits. Celebrate our internationally acclaimed collection of more than 33,000 photographs, dating from the invention of the medium to the present, while participating in engaging programs, conversations, and intellectual camaraderie throughout the year.

Members enjoy a dynamic slate of events, including exclusive access to private collections, artists, curators, insightful lectures, gallery talks, and receptions. Focus even shapes the Museum’s storied collection—every December, Focus members vote on the use of accumulated contributions to acquire a work of photography, at the annual Purchase Party. Building on the Museum’s rich tradition of acquiring and promoting craft, Techné offers collectors and enthusiasts an array of specialized programs and activities throughout the year that will inspire members through stimulating dialogue, the exchange of ideas, and shared experiences. Half-price general admission discount for guests is limited to 10 per visit. Museum facility rental discount does not apply to catering. STARR Restaurant discount is only valid at Philadelphia locations and for parties of up to 4 people. Private Museum tour for Patron members is not valid for special exhibitions. Timed exhibition tickets must be reserved in advance for a specific date and time, subject to availability. A nominal service charge is added for tickets ordered by phone or online. There is no service charge for Museum Circle members and above. The number of free tickets depends on the level of membership. Your membership must be current through the date for which your free tickets are booked. Guest passes are available upon request, and are not valid for ticketed exhibitions.
