Purchased with funds contributed by the Women’s Committee and the Craft Show Committee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, 1984LabelBorn in Philadelphia, Albert Paley received both his BFA and MFA from Tyler School of Art, where he studied with Stanley Lechtzin. During his graduate studies there Paley began researching the manipulation of iron for his artwork. Initially applying it to his jewelry (see the brooch on view), Paley now works in ferrous metals primarily for outdoor sculpture, architectural elements, and furniture, as seen in this plant stand. |
