Brooch

1975
Olaf Skoogfors (American (born Sweden), 1930–1975)
Having spent his formative years in Philadelphia, Olaf Skoogfors attended the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts), studying with both Virginia Wireman Curtin and Richard Hoffman Reinhardt. After graduate studies at the School of the American Craftsman, he returned to Philadelphia to set up his studio and teach at PCA, where he became an influential force within the city's burgeoning 1960s craft scene. His untimely death in 1975 left a resonant silence in the field.
